WINNER OF THE PEUGEOT DRONE FILM FESTIVAL 2017
Peugeot and DJI, the world leader in multicopter, selected the winners of the Peugeot Drone Film Festival 2017 at the Toscana Resort Castelfalfi last weekend. Marin Kafedjiisk was awarded the first place in the international film competition. The Bulgarian filmmaker impressed with his film "MMP Run" from the category "Experimental", which deals in a fascinating way with the sport "Parkour".
Second place went to the Dutchman Maarten Slooves with his film "A.I. Revolt "in the category Story Telling, third place went to the German filmmakers and last year's winner NAME and Oliver Scholz with" Thorxtri ", also in the category Story Telling. A total of 417 creatives from 27 countries submitted their films for the International Fim Competition this year, including participants from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, La Réunion, USA, Hong Kong, Iceland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, India and Israel. Eight finalists were invited to the final in the exclusive Toscana Resort Castelfalfi. There, the jury of the film festival - including festival director Marie Bäumer, actress Lavinia Wilson, director Stephan Wagner and Lukas Dohle, marketing director of Peugeot Germany - made the decision. "The film by Marin Kafedjiisk has impressed us with its conspicuous presentation and remarkable speed," says Lukas Dohle. "The enormous increase in participants in the Peugeot Drone Film Festival shows us the great interest in this genre. The innovative multicopter from DJI and the sporty models from Peugeot appeal equally to a young and creative target group ".

PEUGEOT DRONE FILM FESTIVAL 2017
The use of drones in combination with high-quality digital film cameras gives the filmmaker a completely new creative possibility at an extremely low cost. Together with its partners DJI and TOSKANA RESORT CASTELFALFI, PEUGEOT would like to dedicate a own festival to this new film genre in order to bring the development of this technology closer to filmmakers, to create an audience for these types of films and to show the use of modern film technology as a profit and a new opportunity for creatives.
From March 15, 2017, filmmakers and drone-pilots are able to send films as festival submission. The competition consists five categories and the winners will be selected by the jury under the direction of actress Marie Bäumer, camera-legend Gernot Roll, actress Lavinia Wilson and three directors of the German Directors Guild. In total 12 finalists will be invited to the Grand Final in CASTELFALFI, Tuscany in November 2017.
The grand final of the PEUGEOT DRONE FILM FESTIVAL will take place from 24 to 26 November in CASTELFALFI. There will be announced by the jury the winners of the categories and the Grand Prix of all submissions. All finalists will also receive a three-day intensive and creative training with the drone specialists of DJI and the jury.
The Grand Prix of the PEUGEOT DRONE FILM FESTIVAL is a six-week drone filming event - free of choice: the winner will get for six weeks two free PEUGEOT travelers including running costs, a DJI drone with extensive equipment and EURO 5,000 for travel costs.
